Yuqian is a graduate student in International Chinese Education at Sichuan University. She joined the Confucius Institute for Scotland in September 2026. She believes in tracing language back to its roots to inspire students’ thinking, and that teaching is a two-way journey—teachers and students learn from each other.

She has a strong interest in music, film, and culture from the UK and across Europe, and enjoys hiking, traveling, and practising calligraphy in her spare time.
She enjoys sharing both the Chinese language and the culture behind it.
