The Rise and Fall of Dinosaurs with Steve Brusatte

You are warmly invited to the below lecture organised by colleagues at the Edinburgh Zoo.

Dinosaurs ruled the world for over 150 million years and their descendants continue to thrive today as birds, including many that you can see at the zoo.

In this talk, palaeontologist Steve Brusatte will give a breezy biography of dinosaurs, where you can learn about their humble origins, how they became the largest animals to ever live on land and their sudden death in the fireball of an asteroid.

Steve Brusatte is Professor of Palaeontology and Evolution at the University of Edinburgh and a specialist on the anatomy, genealogy and evolution of dinosaurs and mammals. He is a keen communicator of science and the author of popular science books including Sunday Times bestseller, The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs, and The Rise and Reign of the Mammals.

He was also the palaeontology consultant for the 2022 film Jurassic World: Dominion!

Following the talk, you can purchase a copy of his book and get it signed. If you already have a copy, remember to bring it along.

This event will take place in the Budongo Lecture Theatre on Thursday, 20 April, from 6:30 pm – 8 pm. For further information, please contact events@rzss.org.uk
