The Fifth Conference on Chinese Teaching in Scotland – 2nd September 2022
The Fifth Conference on Chinese Teaching in Scotland is a free half-day event that will take place on Friday afternoon, 2nd September 2022, followed by four workshops from September to February 2023. The Conference is for all involved or interested in teaching Chinese and aims to foster learning, inspire new ideas and promote dialogue amongst the Chinese teaching community, particularly in Scotland. We welcome all in the Chinese language education field to participate in this free event.
The main Conference will be in a hybrid (Zoom and invited guests) fashion. Workshops will be organised through a fusion (online or in-person) style.
This Conference is jointly organised by the Confucius Institute for Scotland at the University of Edinburgh and the Swire Chinese Language Centre Edinburgh.
The conference aims to cover the following topics:
- Chinese Teaching Skills and Pedagogy
- Strategies of Teaching Chinese Language and Culture
- Into Teaching and Career Pathways
The keynote sessions and workshops will be led by international speakers, experienced teachers and senior staff from schools and universities. The working languages of the conference and workshops are English and Chinese.
