Open Day at the Confucius Institute for Scotland – 1st October 2022
Saturday 1st October will see the Confucius Institutes for Scotland hold an Open Day to mark this year’s Confucius Institute Day.
From 12noon-4.30pm, the team will be ready to welcome you to the Institute, where in a short visit, you will be able to participate in a range of workshops, from language taster sessions to the Chinese Tea ceremony. The open day is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the Institute, meet the institute teachers, learn some basic Chinese language and enjoy several cultural activities. Each workshop will run at two-time slots following the below timetable. A maximum capacity has been set per workshop to optimise the experience. The spaces are very limited!
All workshops are FREE and suitable for all. We hope you will be able to come along, and to help us ensure we can welcome you appropriately; we would encourage you to register HERE.

Chinese Language Taster – Learn basic daily expressions of greetings, numbers, colours etc. and try your hand at writing and painting with brush and ink!
Paper Cutting – Follow our simple instructions and get creative with different patterns!
Chinese Tea Ceremony – Enjoy a traditional tea ceremony demonstration and have a sip of different types of Chinese tea! (Please note this drink contains caffeine.)
‘Hanfu’ Costume – Explore the glamour of this traditional clothing of the Han ethnic group in China and try them on!
