This winter, join us for a special workshop where we delve into the timeless art of brush painting while creating festive Christmas cards. Participants will learn foundational techniques of brush strokes, ink mixing, and composition, focusing on capturing the beauty of winter landscapes. You’ll design and paint your own serene snowy scenes, perfect for personalized holiday greetings. All skill levels are welcome, and materials are provided.

What does it cover?
Key techniques of Chinese brush painting, including brush handling, ink mixing, and paper selection. Step-by-step guidance on creating winter landscapes with snow effects. The history and cultural significance of Chinese landscape painting.

About the teacher:
This course will be led by Chi Zhang – an experienced instructor, featured in BBC documentary ‘The art of Chinese brush painting’, shortlisted for ‘Sky TV Landscape Artist of the year 2015’, whose work has been projected across Edinburgh castle during the 2015 Military Tattoo.
