Prof. Wang Shaomei studied at East China Normal University from 1990-1997 and graduated with a Master’s Degree in American Literature in 1997.
She has since then been teaching at College English Center（CEC) of Fudan University, our partnering university in China.
In 2010, she started to lead College English Band IV, the highest level of the English classes at CEC. Her responsibilities include designing syllabus, scheduling weekly teaching, finalizing testing and grading, organizing regular group meetings to discuss ways for teaching improvement and mentoring new teachers in the group.
She was a visiting scholar to the State University of New York at Albany from 2005-2006. Her research interests include second-language acquisition and American literature in the early 20th century.
She joined Confucius Institute for Scotland in Edinburgh in August 2021.
