CHEN Li is a Professor at Fudan University Law School, with a courtesy appointment at the School of Management. He received his legal education in Hong Kong, Singapore, the United States, the United Kingdom, and continental Europe. His research interests span international law, the history of legal education, business law, and law and technology.

His recent scholarship has appeared in leading peer-reviewed journals, including the Leiden Journal of International Law, Human Rights Quarterly, International Data Privacy Law, Journal of International Dispute Settlement, Legal History Review, and the Journal of Legal Education, among others.

He joined as Co‑Director of the Confucius Institute for Scotland in Edinburgh in January 2026.
