We are delighted to welcome Professor Chen Yu from Fudan University to join us as the new co-director of the Confucius Institute for Scotland.

Prof. Chen Yu studied at East China Normal University and graduated with a Doctor’s Degree in International Chinese Education in 2015.

She has been teaching at International Cultural Exchange School (ICES) of Fudan University, our partnering university in China.

Her responsibilities include designing syllabus, scheduling weekly teaching, finalizing testing and grading, organizing regular group meetings to discuss ways for teaching improvement and mentoring new teachers in the group. She was a visiting scholar to the University of Maryland from 2013-2014. Her research interests include second language acquisition and language teaching methodology. She joined Confucius Institute for Scotland in Edinburgh in February 2024.
