Zhang Yaqi is a postgraduate student from the College of International Education at the Minzu University of China.

She graduated with a Bachelor’s in English Study from Nanjing Agriculture University in 2020. In the same year, she chose to teach Chinese as a second language as her major while pursuing her master’s degree. In 2022, she went to the USA to be a Chinese teaching assistant in a middle school. After returning to China, she also taught people from Germany, India, and Japan to improve their Chinese language. She has gained many valuable experiences.

She has many hobbies, like music, sports, dramas and movies. Also, she possesses a diverse worldview and believes teaching Chinese can closely connect people worldwide.

She joined the Confucius Institute for Scotland at the University of Edinburgh in September 2023.
