The past two years’ conferences have attracted over 60 expert speakers from Asia, the UK and Europe. This year, we will also have speaker from Africa attending for the first time.

“There’s no doubt that academic, business and governmental understanding between China and Scotland around BRI have improved markedly as a consequence of the BRI conference,” says Professor Natascha Gentz, Assistant Principal (China) and Director of the Confucius Institute for Scotland. “we are planning to ensure that Belt and Road is firmly on the agenda for Scottish organisations who wish to play a part and benefit from its reach.”
This year’s conference will be held in one of Edinburgh’s iconic historical buildings – the McEwan Hall in the University of Edinburgh. The McEwan Hall was purpose-built as a venue for grand occasions such as graduation ceremonies, Rectoral addresses, concerts and public events. Watch McEwan Hall preview here.
