Wed 7th September: Opening Session 5.30pm - Playfair Library
The opening session on Wednesday 7th September will take place in the Playfair Library. Two eminent speakers will present Keynote Addresses and a discussion session will follow.
Under the title China Modern: Literary perspectives on the 1911 Revolution Professor Wang Hui a leading scholar and professor in the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Tsinghua University will talk on Beijing: Six Moments in the Life of Ah Q while David Wang Der-wei renowned Professor of Chinese Literature at Harvard University will talk on "The Future of New China": Liang Qichao's Vision of Literature and Revolution.
This session will run from 5.30pm till 7.15pm including discussion. A drinks reception will take place following the Opening Session.
Thurs 8th September and Fri 9th September- John McIntyre Conference Centre
The conference venue on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 September is the John McIntyre Conference Centre, Pollock Halls, Edinburgh.
The conference will run from 9am- 5.30pm on Thursday and 9am- 3.30pm on Friday.

Exhibition
A special exhibition on 'Cao Yu: Pioneer of Modern Chinese Drama' created by the Shanghai Theatre Academy Theatre Museum working with the University of Leeds will also be on show in the John McIntyre Conference Centre during the BACS conference.
