Propaganda Poster Art Centre, ShanghaiThis remarkable collection came about as a labour of love by one man Yang Pei Ming, Director of the PPAC. He began to collect posters in 1995 concerned at the potential loss of these social history artefacts. The museum was established in 2002 and over the years has grown in size to match the growth in the collection. In 2012 the museum obtained an official licence from the government. The main collection comprises propaganda posters from 1940-1990 which is supplemented by an additional collection of some hundreds of Shanghai Lady Calendar posters covering the period 1910-1940. PPAC has previously presented exhibitions in the USA, Holland, Japan, Australia, Hungary and various locations in China.
