Harmony at the West End Festival 19 June

ABOUT HARMONY
Founded in 2002 by Yanmei Wu and Eddie McGuire, Harmony has enthralled audiences with their wide-ranging repertoire of folk music, song and dance from different ethnic groups in China. In 2005, their collaboration with the Whistlebinkies brought together a new piece `Tian di Yuan` for Celtic Connections. Members of the ensemble play the Chinese zither (zheng), the bamboo flute (dizi), percussion, fiddle and moon guitar (zhongruan) and feature song, dance and martial arts. `Slickly presented, the unusual was made accessible without compromnse.`
ABOUT WEF
WEF has grown from small beginnings in 1996 to a major festival and has now run as long as Mayfest, which ended in 1997. It is partly produced by its founder and director Michael Dale, but much of it is self-produced by one or other of the many talented people who choose to live and work in this great city.
