Dragon Festival Galashiels 30 Jan
Now in its fourth year the exciting Dragon Festival will take place in Galashiels on Channel Street from noon on Sunday 30th January. Sponsored by the Borders Chinese Cultural Association and Beijing Beijing Galashiels, the famous Chinese Lion Dance will be performed both in Channel Street and in Beijing Beijing.

Chinese Footwear - 25 Jan
The first SCA talk of 2011 will be given by Jennifer Scarce on the topic of Chinese Footwear on 25 January 2011
The venue is Garnethill Multicultural Centre, 21 Rose St, Glasgow G3 6RE and the talk begins at 7.30pm
Attendance to the talk is free, but places are limited.

Ricefield Autumn Programme
Now operating from new premises in Glasgow, Ricefield Arts and Cultural Centre has devised a divers programme of evening and weekend classes to introduce aspects of Chinese culture from cinema to seal carving.
Evening classes include:
Writing Smoke-Long Fiction from 11 Oct-13 Dec: 7pm-9pm
Chinese Book Arts 20 Oct-8 Dec 7pm-9pm
An Introduction to Chinese Language Cinema 16 Oct-18 Dec Sat 10am-1.30pm
Weekend Classes include
Chinese Seal Carving Sat/Sun 13th/14th Nov 10am-5pm
Techniques in Chinese Printmaking Sat 20 Nov 10am-5pm

Fund Raising Concert 4 Dec-POSTPONED
Due to snow the concert below has been cancelled. We will advise if a new date is set for this concert organised by Alba Cathay Chinese School as a fundraising concert featuring works by Beethoven, Kreisler, Handel, Bach, Chopin and others.
THE EVENT BELOW IS CANCELLED
Taking place in Fairmilehead Parish Church from 6.15pm to 8.15pm admission is free for children and adults are asked to make a donation.
The funds raised will be sent to China to support children there who cannot afford a proper education. Only £40 will provide a child with one year of schooling in China.

November`s talk will be given by guest speaker Dr David Vernon on the topic of `The Friendship Centre in Dengke, North West Sichuan`.
The venue is Garnethill Multicultural Centre, 21 Rose St, Glasgow G3 6RE and the talk begins at 7.30pm
Attendance to the talk is free, but places are limited. Priorities are given to members of CBBC and SCA.
