Adam Dupre


Adam founded China Company Research Services Ltd (CCRS) in 2002 after 17 years working in the specialist international company investigation and assessment market.  CCRS facilitates Western players who need to understand in depth the Chinese counterparts they are looking to work with.  His work involved frequent visits to China in the 2000s.Adam Dupre

 While still running CCRS, Adam founded a new maritime company analysis business in Singapore, Ocean Intelligence Pte Ltd, for the Petromedia Group, which he led until being appointed chair of Petromedia in 2011.

Adam is also an ex officio Vice President of the 48 Group Club. In this position he initiated earlier visits to Scotland by the Chinese Ambassador and the Chinese Minister of Education. His role as first mover for the ‘China Now in Scotland’ festival in 2008 brought him into contact with the Confucius Institute for Scotland in the University of Edinburgh. He is now working with the Institute to facilitate commercial and business relations between Scotland and China.

The first talk in the series will address the general themes of the whole series – the economic, commercial and political background dynamics that underlie present and future commercial relationships with China.   

The talk will cover three main themes: the implications and effects of tectonic shifts in world trade and economy; China's new place in the world and its impact on the two major trading blocs of Europe and the USA; Scotland as a player in this new global environment.
