Business Lectures from the Confucius Institute for Scotland

As patterns of trade change in both the East and the West it is vital that Scottish businesses understand the background dynamics that underlie current and future economic and commercial relationships with China. The Institute is currently developing its speaker programme for 2013.

The Institute launched its Business Lecture Series in 2012 which drew a number of high profile speakers from a range of backgrounds. Our 2012 autumn programme included people such as Jim McColl, founder of Clyde Blowers; Nathan Parnaby, CEO Asia & Emerging Markets, Standard Life; Peter Budd, chairman of Arup Scotland; and Dr Liu Li, Managing Partner of one of China's leading architectural companies. The spring programme featured talks from Adam Dupre, China Company Research Services; Steven Perry, London Export Corporation (and Chair 48 Group Club); Jim O'Neill, Chairman, Goldman Sachs Asset Management; and Dr Ji Bin, President, All China Federation of Taiwan Companies.

Work is now underway to secure a range of western and Chinese speakers for the 2013 series..

The website will be updated with speaker information and lecture dates as confirmed.
