Chinese 3 - Code K2300
This course is for those students who have completed 3.2 or equivalent (approximately 220 hours of tuition.) As vocabulary and knowledge of grammar increase, students will be able to express themselves more clearly and precisely. Students will continue to develop their knowledge and improve their skills whilst reinforcing previously acquired knowledge through constant practise. Learning outcomes
By the end of the course students should be able to:
- Communicate using an enlarged vocabulary and more sentence patterns in areas of most immediate relevance, such as going to a restaurant, talking about the weather, picking someone up
- Communicate and express themselves better in less common situations, such as discussing and comparing living conditions between urban and rural areas in China
Teaching method
The course is tutorial based with a combination of whole class activity and group work. The course also uses audio-visual material as teaching aids (CDs and DVDs).
In order to fully benefit from the course and to achieve the learning outcomes, you will need to devote 1-2 hours outwith classes to revision and homework.
