Paper cutting is a Chinese handicraft practiced over the centuries and still in use today. Used to decorate windows and doors, paper cutting is widely practiced especially to commemorate festivals and celebrate events such as weddings.
Join us from 6pm-8pm for a 2 hour introduction to this Chinese folk craft and learn the skill and satisfaction inherent in making figures, flowers and other symbols using simply paper, templates and scissors.
Practiced by adults in China this course is aimed at adults and accompanied children aged from ten upwards. Join us for an evening or afternoon class (or both) as suits your availability and your interest level.

Free Friday Film Programme Jan-March 2010
Every Friday afternoon during term time at 2pm, Chinese films will be shown in the Language and Humanities Centre, basement of David Hume Tower, George Square, Edinburgh. No prior booking is necessary and admission is free.
