Congrong Dai is a professor of comparative literature and world literature at the Faculty of Chinese Language and Literature, Fudan University, Shanghai, China.
She is now serving as the Chinese co-director at Confucius Institute for Scotland in the University of Edinburgh. At Fudan she is deputy dean（International）in the Faculty of Chinese Language and Literature where she also holds the post of director at the Centre for Literary Translation and Studies.
She is a board member of Shanghai Writers Association and of Shanghai Comparative Literature Association.
She has published four books in Chinese, mainly on English literature, and translated five books from English, one of which is James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake (Book One). She has published more than 70 papers in James Joyce Quarterly, Neohelicon and other famous Chinese journals.
